Meet Dr. Melissa Volpe Merwin! She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Boston College in 2015. While completing her undergraduate studies, Melissa was a 4-time Varsity Letter recipient and Captain of the Women’s Swimming & Diving Team.
She continued her education at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2019. Dr. Merwin demonstrated her passion for community health by serving as the Lead Coordinator for UCONN’s Healthy Smiles Program in Hartford, CT. She also traveled to Sacatepéquez, Guatemala to provide comprehensive dental care to the underserved population.
Dr. Melissa continued her pursuit of clinical excellence by completing a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC – a rigorous program that focuses on advanced clinical procedures and dental management of patients with complex medical histories. She is committed to lifelong learning and is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Connecticut State Dental Association.
When she is not saving teeth, Dr. Merwin enjoys swimming, hiking, and spending time with her nieces & nephews. She is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered dental care, and is incredibly grateful to have joined the Friedler Dental Group!
